Head of Finance

The Head of Finance will report directly to the CEO of OTR Bristol and be responsible for all aspects of finance. This is a hands on role and will require a proactive and inquisitive nature.

OTR Bristol has recently expanded with 20,000 young people in their network across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset offering creative and diverse mental health and wellbeing info and support.

OTR Bristol provides free, confidential mental health and emotional well-being support to young people. Its main goals include helping young people manage their mental health, offering counselling, and providing emotional support in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

Description

Reporting directly to the CEO the Head of Finance will be responsible for end to end finance, to include:

  • To be lead and be accountable for financial strategy, planning, financial stewardship and control.
  • To be responsible for the preparation of strategic financial plans and forecasts for OTR, ensuring that revenue and surplus targets are challenging yet realistic and that key financial risks are identified and mitigated.
  • To provide financial advice and papers including monthly management accounts to Trustees, the CEO and Managers, ensuring that budgets and cash flows are accurate and property managed and that key decisions are supported by robust financial and risk analysis.
  • To line manage the Finance Champion and ensure that all day-day tasks are correctly carried out and the transactions are correctly recorded, included reviewing and signing off regular bank reconciliations.
  • Lead the finance team in the preparation of financial reports, budgets and annual audit.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • To be responsible for running the monthly payroll and organising payment of salaries.
  • To provide operational reporting and financial insight to the CEO, external stakeholders and Board of Trustees as appropriate.
  • Retain constant awareness of the company's financial position and act to prevent problems.

Profile

  • Experience in the preparation and translating management accounts.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team.
  • Excellent analytical, decision making and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong financial and accounting knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with various stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
  • Experience of preparing statutory accounts in the accordance with the Companies Act and Charity SORP.

  • A competitive salary ranging from £44,480 - £51,815, 24 - 30 hours per week pro rata.
