Interim Finance Business Partner - 12 month Contract

Let's get one thing straight: this isn't a glorified spreadsheet-polisher role. And if you're just looking to coast through 12 months of management accounts with your headphones in - this one's not for you.
This is for someone who wants to properly get stuck in.

You'll be joining a £100m-turnover, PE backed operation with a finance team that actually talks to people (shocking, we know). We need a true Business Partner - and we mean that in the old-fashioned sense: someone who knows the numbers but also knows how to talk about them, challenge them, and use them to influence the people driving the business.
You'll be supporting your own divisions, producing monthly packs, getting into the weeds with variance analysis, and keeping on top of the accrued income. Working alongside the Divisional Directors who expect clarity, insight, and the occasional sanity check.
Forecast accuracy, system/process improvements, and clean audits are how your success will be measured - not how many PowerPoint decks you can churn out. You'll need a knack for spotting trends, calling out risks, and helping operational teams keep control of their numbers and their margins.

We don't care if you're part-qualified or QBE - just as long as you've done the work. This isn't a training ground but with a decent handover and a supportive team around you, you won't be left to fend for yourself.

What you'll need:
Strong Excel and finance systems game, Sage experience is useful but not essential
Real business partnering experience - not just "I sat in one meeting with ops once"
The ability to look beyond the P&L and balance sheet to see what the numbers mean
A pragmatic approach to getting things done, not just identifying problems and walking away
