Finance Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Finance Assistant to join our team. This role involves a variety of financial tasks, from inputting supplier invoices to bank reconciliations and handling resident queries. The ideal candidate will have a strong finance background, excellent organisational skills, and a good knowledge of Excel. This is a fully office-based role that requires attention to detail and an understanding of GDPR.

Day to day of the role:

  • Inputting supplier invoices and ensuring accuracy in data entry.
  • Performing analysis of various financial data to support decision-making.
  • Responding to supplier enquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Providing reception cover and handling queries.
  • Verifying that fee rates and dates are correct and match purchase orders.
  • Ensuring self-funding contracts are signed with accurate dates and fee rates, and that payments are taken upfront when necessary.
  • Maintaining spreadsheets and producing various weekly reports.
  • Generating invoices for month-end and raising ad-hoc invoices and credits if required.
  • Meeting all month-end deadlines and maintaining financial records in compliance with GDPR.
  • Processing card payments and issuing refunds as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Maths & English GCSEs.
  • Experience in a finance role.
  • AAT qualification is preferable.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Understanding of GDPR.
