About the Role:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Housing Options Assistant to join their Housing Options Team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals and families seeking housing solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of Derby residents by helping to prevent homelessness and ensure access to suitable housing.
Housing Options Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Provide frontline support and advice to individuals and families experiencing housing difficulties.
- Assist in conducting initial assessments to determine housing needs and eligibility for assistance.
- Support the Housing Options team in developing and implementing housing plans tailored to the needs of service users.
- Liaise with external agencies, landlords, and other stakeholders to secure suitable housing options.
- Help clients understand their housing rights and responsibilities.
- Provide administrative support, including data entry, handling correspondence, and managing appointments.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for internal and external use.
Housing Options Assistant Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong ability to prioritise tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
- Proactive approach to identifying issues and finding practical solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and support colleagues.
- Sensitive and compassionate approach to dealing with vulnerable individuals and families.
- Enhanced DBS.
The Package
This is a temporary, Housing Options Assistant role,37.5 hours per week for an initial 2 months, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent.
