We are seeking an experienced Head of Supply Chain to join a dynamic and innovative manufacturing business in a phase of growth and appropriate transformation.
The Head of Supply Chain is part of the SLT and you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the supply chain, including Procurement, Planning, Scheduling, and Logistics. You will develop and implement strategies to ensure seamless integration between your departments and the broader operations, notably the sales and operations teams, driving efficiency and performance across the business.
As Head of Supply Chain, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the company's supply chain processes support overall business goals and deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities for the Head of Supply Chain.
- Oversee procurement, planning, scheduling, and logistics functions to ensure an efficient and effective supply chain.
- Develop and implement effective strategic plans to improve supply chain, operations and align with business objectives.
- Ensure the smooth integration of supply chain processes with sales and operations to optimise lead times and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with key internal teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth operations and build strong partnerships as well as define what good looks like.
- Develop Production Planning tools which achieve a minimum of 98% Customer OTIF.
- Analyse and evaluate supply chain data to identify areas for improvement, efficiency, and cost savings.
- Lead demand forecasting and inventory management processes to meet production and customer demands while minimising excess stock.
- Monitor and report on key supply chain metrics, ensuring that the business meets performance targets related to cost, quality, and delivery.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure quality and timely delivery, addressing any issues that arise. And implementing processes to align performance expectations
- Ensure compliance with industry and company standards across all supply chain processes.
- Drive continuous improvement across supply chain processes through the application of lean methodologies and best practices.
- Manage the budget for the supply chain function, ensuring cost control while maintaining service levels.
- Lead and motivate your team to achieve objectives and drive departmental success.
- Handle supply chain issues or disruptions swiftly and effectively to maintain smooth operations.
- Support business growth by developing global supply chain functions and expanding international operations.
Requirements as Head of Supply Chain:
- Proven experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Expertise in procurement, logistics, planning, and inventory management.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Deep appreciate of ERP and how to utilise this to its best effect.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to make informed decisions.
- Familiarity with lean tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen) is desirable.
