  • Job Type: Full-time, temporary with the option to go perm for the right candidate
  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week. Service rota including weekends and bank/public holidays as required
  • Hourly Rate: 12.39 per hour

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated Premises Officer to assist in the delivery of high-quality Community Life Choices, Short Breaks, and Supported Living services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of buildings and grounds, ensuring a comfortable, clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for all users.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Undertake general maintenance work to ensure services are maintained to a high standard.
  • Maintain service assets and resources, ensuring compliance with Council policies and relevant regulations.
  • Work flexibly to meet service requirements, including working outside of standard hours.
  • Develop and maintain local systems, processes, and procedures for end-to-end service efficiency.
  • Perform routine checks and minor repairs for heating, lighting, plumbing, and other systems.
  • Undertake minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, furniture, and equipment, reporting any defects as necessary.
  • Provide responsive porterage service, adhering to Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Liaise with external contractors and ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
  • Ensure equipment, including assistive technology and manual handling equipment, is in good working order.
  • Use IT systems to standardise safety checks and manage hazards.
  • Plan and set up areas in a building according to service requirements.
  • Open/close buildings and manage alarm systems as per procedures
  • Manage information securely and report any breaches in line with Council policies.
  • Work in accordance with the Council's Employee Code of Conduct and policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in premises maintenance and facilities management.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, Fire Safety Order, LOLER, and other relevant regulations.
  • Ability to work flexibly and participate in a service rota.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and adhere to manual handling guidelines.
  • Experience in performing portable appliance testing (PAT) is desirable.

The role is 37hrs a week, but applicants must be willing to be flexible if required to open any sites at weekends, the length of assignment is temporary ongoing and the right candidate the client will consider you for the permanent position.

Applicants will need to have a clean UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle as the role requires travel between sites, expenses will be paid.
