HR Advisor

I am currently partnering with a construction company based in Scarborough to recruit for a HR Advisor to join their fantastic team on a permanent basis.

The role is paying up to £44,000 PA with benefits that include single PMI healthcare, Medicash scheme, discretionary annual 15% bonus, 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, 8% non-contributory pension, 4 x annual salary life assurance, non contractual free lunch and free transport to necessary site locations around the North East / Yorkshire.

Flexible working options are available.

CIPD Level 5 qualification is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first line support to line managers relating to policy content and application.
  • Advise and assist as notes taker where required in employment relations matters to include Probation reviews, performance development reviews (PDRs), investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, flexible working requests etc.
  • Coach managers on ER processes and timelines to minimise risk to the business.
  • Seek innovative ways of improving current ways of working, improving on efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Review and update policies and procedures to reflect new ways of working as and when required.
  • Support the Head of HR during the embedding and delivery of HR processes and initiatives.
  • Support the team to deliver initiatives to drive a culture of continuous improvement in areas such as colleague engagement, absence management, attrition and more.
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues to understand business challenges, look for learnings that can be shared across the team and escalate as appropriate where HR could implement new or adapt existing policies, practices, or procedures for the enhancement of our delivery for the benefit of our colleagues, customers, and clients.
  • Support the HR team through effective proactive communication to ensure that we remain joined up and consistent in our HR support to the organisation.
  • Reasonable other duties that may arise to support the agility and growth of our organisation and people agenda.
