A position has arisen in a brilliant school in Derbyshire, supporting pupils with SEN, particularly those with Severe Learning Disabilities and Autism. The right candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of education and therefore improving the outcomes of young people. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans under the guidance of teachers.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Prepare and organise learning materials and resources.
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting to teachers.
  • Collaborate with professionals and external agencies to support student needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a level 3 in supporting and learning or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting that we can reference in the last 2 years.
  • Able to support the class teacher with challenging behaviours (training will be provided).
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEND practice, Child Protection and Health and Safety.
  • Support with personal care where required.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.
