Specialist Support Worker - Adults with Learning Disabilities - Llanelli
Are you a passionate, dedicated Specialist Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Specialist Support Worker to join a team based in Llanelli.
Umbrella Rate: £15.42 per hour
Duration: 3 months initially
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm, 37 hrs/week
Specialist Support Worker role: Full JD Available
- Provide care and support to Adults with Learning Disabilities
- Enable service users to engage in a range of internal and external activities and opportunities to achieve agreed goals and objectives as stated in their care plan
- Implement a range of health provision and personal care for service users with complex needs including Peg Feeding & Medication etc.
- Ensure a caring and enabling environment that respects and promotes the dignity and independence of the service users
- Demonstrate patience, caring and understanding
- Act as an advocate for each service user to ensure their individual rights and choices are met
- Raise an concerns immediately to your line manager
- Work as part of a team with a range of professionals and other services and develop effective relationships with service users' parents/carers in the local community
- Accurately record relevant documentation
Essential Requirements
- Commitment to undertake QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adults) within 2 years
- Knowledge and understanding of the differing needs and abilities of people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex needs
- Ability to support service users and act as advocate to communicate individuals needs effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Enhanced Adult DBS registered to the update service
