School Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated Secondary Cover Supervisor to support a Secondary School in Bromley, supporting across Key Stage 3 and 4. This is an ideal role for a candidate who is either looking for more classroom experience or is looking to build on previous classroom cover/support roles.

This position is starting immediately, but the school are also open to suitable candidates who will also be available to start in September 2024.

As a Secondary Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and productive learning atmosphere within the schools. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising students and managing classroom behaviour to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans in the absence of the regular class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning
  • Providing support to individual students or small groups who may require additional assistance with their studies
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and school leadership to maintain high standards of education, student welfare and maintaining safeguarding policies
  • Acting as a positive role model for students, promoting good behaviour and fostering a love of learning

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • Adaptability and resilience to handle varying classroom situations and challenges
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping every child reach their full potential
  • A degree isn't required but would be beneficial
