We are seeking a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a passion for Family Law to join our team. The successful candidate will advise clients on a range of family matters including matrimonial, divorce, ancillary relief, children matters, and separation agreements. This role also involves proactive marketing of the Family team and building strong client relations.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Handle all aspects of private Family Law for clients, including initial interviews, advising on family matters, and executing client instructions.
  • Attend clients at the office for fixed fee interviews and attend Court as necessary.
  • Draft legal documents such as divorce petitions, child arrangement orders, financial settlement agreements, and separation agreements.
  • Instruct and liaise with Counsel and Mediators.
  • Manage billing and ensure clients are informed about fee structures and future costs.
  • Market the department to increase new business and maximise cross-selling opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed set targets for billing, time recording, and workload.
  • Conduct files efficiently, maintaining confidentiality and utilising the firm's case management system.
  • Comply with all regulatory obligations and maintain competence through CPD activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a minimum of 1-year PQE.
  • 2 x A Levels or equivalent, Law degree or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective IT skills.
  • Proven organisational and administration skills with the ability to produce accurate work.
  • Knowledge of the legal system and, preferably, use of case management and accountancy software such as DPS.
