Security Officer

About The Role
We have a vacancy for a Security Officer to join our team.

To create and maintain a quality standard on the Contract site, in order that the Agreed Specification / Service Level Agreement and any other UAL Policies and Procedures are carried out and adhered to. Ensure excellent personal appearance and hygiene, including uniform are of the highest standard at all times in line with our company policies. To provide UAL Staff, Students, Visitors and Contractors a safe & friendly environment to work. To prevent unauthorised entry of persons not permitted on site and prevent unauthorised removal of equipment by protecting the University and company assets.

Your main responsibilities may also include:

To deliver the day to day security static and patrol operations in order to provide a safe
and secure environment for all students, staff and visitors and their personal property, as
well as ensuring the security and safety of University building and equipment.
1.3.b Point of contact for all UAL staff, students, visitors and contractors who come to site.
1.3.c Officers will be routinely required to think and act within a wide range of defined
procedures and precedents but also frequently to use your experience, judgment and
initiative to make decisions on how to respond to a variety of situations and customers,
including students, staff, conference delegates, contract works staff and visitors
1.3.d To report for your Roster Duties on time and in full Uniform
1.3.e To carry out duties as required by the Security Team Leader and Control Room Operator.
1.3.f To be in possession of a notebook and pen and any other equipment deemed necessary
for the role.
1.3.g To conduct patrols of the campus premises both internally and externally, as instructed
by the Security Team Leader or Control Room Operator
1.3.h To provide customer focused security service.
1.3.i To monitor access and egress as required to all buildings on the campus and respond to
breaches.
1.3.j To ensure Radio Checks are undertaken within the period requested by the Control Room.
1.3.k To ensure that all problems or incidents, which occur during the course of your duties,
are reported promptly to the Control Room.
1.3.l To be conversant in the Building Fire Alarm Activation Procedure, including Fire Alarm
Response & Investigation.
1.3.m To be conversant with the procedures and trained in the operational requirements of the
Emergency evacuation.
1.3.n To ensure integrity of the security systems is maintained as directed by the Control Room.
1.3.o To immediately report all potentially suspicious packages, vehicles and characters within
your patrols to Control Room and be advised about unattended valuables and actions to
be taken.
1.3.p To immediately report all Health & Safety hazards to the Control Room and to instigate
procedures to alleviate any further risk or damage to property or persons.
1.3.q To submit written incidents reports as required or instructed by the Security Team Leader.
1.3.r Officers are not to use personal mobile telephones whilst on duty except in cases of
personal emergency.
1.3s Any other duties deemed to be appropriate or necessary to the post.

To succeed in this role you will need the following:

To have completed secondary education with sound knowledge of MS Office products.
2.2 Professional Qualifications
Security Industry Authority Door Supervisor Licence
First Aid Certificate.
2.3 Experience
Previous experience within the Security Industry is essential.
