Founded in 1973 by 3 Cambridge University Graduates this is one of the best-known college university brands in the UK, located in a beautiful and desired area of Central London it is a fantastic place to work. They are seeking a day houseparent to join their dynamic team in September on a 40 hour per week rota.

This client welcomes males as well as females to apply for the post.

The Role:

  • Working closely with Directors of Studies and other key pastoral staff in college, to provide the highest possible pastoral care to boarders
  • To ensure that the boarding house provides a 'home from home' atmosphere to all boarders
  • To promote boarders' health and wellbeing and to act upon concerns about boarders including, but not limited to, concerns regarding sleep patterns, work ethic, unhealthy habits, personal hygiene, medical and mental health concerns, and to support all boarders, offering personal support.
  • To contribute to the boarding induction programme fully by providing activities and support for boarders settling into boarding
  • To follow all safeguarding policies and requirements
  • To oversee boarders' prep when on duty and to communicate with teaching staff as required, including oversight of boarders' prep via regular meetings with DoS as appropriate.
  • To ensure compliance with National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools (Sept 2022), contributing to Boarding Self-Evaluations and Development Planning.
  • Assist in the management of the boarding house, including arranging boarder travel details and room inventories

You will have:

  • Experience of working with teenagers, preferably from international background
  • Experience of supporting young people
  • Experience of residential settings
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organisation and administration skills
  • Creative thinking
  • Strong IT skills (eg. Outlook and other database systems)

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, base hours 16:00pm - 23:00pm Monday to Friday

Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 GPA
