Our client is a precision engineering subcontract machine shop that specialises in high quality turning and 5 axis CNC machining in the aerospace, motor sport, defence and commercial customer bases.

Due to continued expansion and greater capacity, with the purchase of 2 further mill turn machines, a synchronous 5-axis Hermle and several other 5-axis machining centres, as well as an ever-increasing orderbook, they are looking for a CNC Programmer and Setter/Operators to join their team.

CNC Programmer Role:
To control the production of programs and conforming parts on the machines, ensuring that the organisation meets its customers' expectations of quality and delivery within their team. To work with the Production Manager, Setter / Operators, other Operators, and others in the department in promoting a right first-time approach to all tasks within the department. To adhere to the techniques used within the business, comply with the practices used and promote a continuous improvement ethos within the business. To be willing to learn and become more skilled through training. To work within an AS9100 quality environment.
Your CNC Programmer Responsibilities:
- Create programs for the CNC machines from models and drawings using CAD/CAM packages for offline programming and online programming on the machines.
- Specify / select the correct tooling to manufacture the part using the most efficient processes.
- Specify / select the correct work holding system to manufacture the parts.
- Safely operate / use the machine.
- Load programs onto the machine and select the defined tooling and set it with the correct offsets.
- Conduct in process inspection of parts being produced by the machine they are setting and operating.
Your experience as a CNC Programmer:
- Minimum of 5 years experience of programming Fanuc CNC /Siemens Controls.
- Minimum 5 years setting and operating CNC Mills. This is a role that needs skilled programmers / setters.
