Role overview:
Reporting to the Deputy Finance Director, the Revenue Manager will be responsible for overseeing revenue management for all global offices.
Key activities/responsibilities
- Management of the Global Revenue Team with assistance of two Assistant Revenue Managers to include:
- Training of Accounts staff and running induction sessions for all new Partners and Associates in the London office
- Overseeing allocation of work within the team to ensure efficiency and assisting training needs.
- Ensuring all WIP is reviewed and valued, if not billed, by Partners on a monthly basis.
- Preparing and updating monthly billing forecast and following up on all potential bills.
- Checking bills and credit notes are processed correctly and are promptly despatched to clients.
- Management of e-billing including updating of systems and procedures.
- Working closely with the Credit Control team to ensure Investment Days targets are met (currently 120).
- Preparation of client fee reports; liaising with Partners and clients.
- Review and updating current systems with the Finance Systems Team, ensuring the firm uses the functionality in the system and assisting upgrades where needed.
- Working closely with the Compliance Department regarding client and matter set-ups, escrows, client groups and third party billings.
- Reviewing rate agreements, caps and agreed fees and making sure they are correctly entered on to Aderant, including working closely with the Pricing Manager.
- Dealing with time recording queries and monitoring time posting.
- Ensuring all of the above is undertaken in accordance with local regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Other ad hoc tasks as agreed by the Deputy Finance Director/Finance Director.
Skills and experience - essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels.
- Proactive, with a desire to improve proceeses and implement change
- Ability to manage multiple teams.
- High levels of accuracy and numeracy and the ability to work to strict deadlines and high workloads.
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial data, draw conclusions and make recommendations to the business.
- Knowledge of Aderant preferred including use of most up to date WIP management and billing modules.
- Strong IT skills including Excel (advanced) and PowerBI.
- Experience of at least three years in a similar role in an international law firm preferred.
