Job Summary:

We are seeking an HR Advisor to provide a proactive HR Generalist service across the organization. This role involves handling various HR-related matters, ensuring effective recruitment processes, managing temporary labour, and supporting employee relations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and possess a strong practical working knowledge of employment law.

Essential Functions:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all HR-related queries.

  • Conduct recruitment and selection for various staff roles in a cost-effective manner, including:

  • Negotiating rates with agencies.

  • Utilizing web-based services to reduce agency costs.

  • Managing the recruitment process from requisition to hire.

  • Overseeing the interview process, including structured competency interviews.

  • Organizing and conducting assessment centres.

  • Managing all administrative tasks associated with recruitment, including offer letters and testing requirements.

  • Manage temporary labour and liaise with external recruitment agencies, ensuring pre-employment medicals are performed, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.

  • Organize and deliver induction training programmes and HR induction elements to new recruits.

  • Manage absenteeism through effective monitoring and support Time and Attendance management.

  • Handle Occupational Health referrals and health surveillance.

  • Understand and create company policies and procedures where necessary.

  • Manage investigations and disciplinary/grievance matters up to the stage of dismissal.

  • Coordinate Industrial Tribunal claims and consult with HR and legal advisors.

  • Create monthly HR reports and update weekly dashboards.

  • Advise on employment matters, including paid and unpaid leave.

  • Counsel employees on work-related problems.

  • Assist with the Performance Management process.

  • Handle day-to-day employee relations queries and manage administrative workloads under pressure.

  • Perform any other duties deemed appropriate within the scope of the role.

Knowledge, Qualification, and Education:

  • CIPD qualification is beneficial but not essential.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in an HR role, ideally in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Strong practical working knowledge of employment law.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and HRIS (ideally SAP).
