Customer Service Representative - Sales

Job Overview

Your role comprises of Administrative, Customer Service and Commercial Sales duties. You are responsible for carrying out duties efficiently, accurately and in a professional manner - reporting through to Head of Group Commercial.

Ideal Candidate

This role would suit either someone with sales administration experience or a recent graduate who is looking to to start a career in sales.

Salary and Hours

  • Up to £24 - £27k (depending on experience)
  • Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Administration

  • Capture sales order requirements from existing customers (verbal, email, letter etc).
  • Enter customer orders onto internal system.
  • Complete 'finished' orders within the system.
  • Handle customer credit account applications with Accounts.
  • Handle all customer queries and enquiries.
  • Attend NCR meetings as requested.
  • Raise internal documents as necessary.
  • Update CRM with relevant information.

Customer Service

  • Provide a focal point of contact for customers and managers alike.
  • Understand and agree Customer and Accountable Managers' requirements - communicate internally effectively.
  • Monitor and progress sales orders in the system.
  • Work with Operations / Transport /Purchasing / Quality colleagues to meet customer requirements.
  • Contact customers post-delivery to ensure customer needs have been met - opportunity to sell more.
  • Advise customers of suggested / recommended re-order dates and stock levels - opportunity to sell more.

Commercial Sales

  • Work to achieve budgetary forecasts.
  • Explore incoming and make outgoing calls for potential sales.
  • Price and quote customers accordingly.
  • Call 'in-active' accounts and customers below estimated forecasts.
  • Research 'new business' opportunities and help secure new business.
  • Liaise with commercial colleagues in terms of updates, points of interest, market information.
  • Chase in outstanding customer debts for payment.
