My client, a Devon-based independent ecological consultancy, is seeking a motivated and skilled Consultant Ecologist to join their team in Bideford or Dawlish, with a primary focus on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) work. This role involves conducting botanical surveys and habitat assessments to support BNG projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Consultant Ecologist, Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed botanical surveys and habitat assessments.
- Develop and implement BNG plans, including metric calculations and habitat creation/enhancement strategies.
- Provide ecological input into planning applications and environmental impact assessments.
- Collaborate with clients, landowners, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports.
Consultant Requirements:
- Proficiency in botanical identification and surveying.
- Understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain principles.
- Strong report writing and data analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.
