We are looking for a Junior Freight Forwarding Clerk to join their European Logistics team. The successful candidate will ensure the highest level of customer service, maximising revenue and profit through spot quoting for clients and procuring best-in-class carriers to deliver our clients' products. This role is diverse and includes key account work, customs, carrier relations, and client relations.
Day to day of the role:
- Account Management and Customer Service
- General Admin tasks including booking jobs and billing
- Collaborate effectively with other operational departments
- Provide customers with accurate and cost-effective quotations
- Procure new hauliers appropriate to the business needs
- Process customer bookings using in-house IT systems
- Provide customers with timely ETAs and updates on shipments
- Ensure customs documents are complete prior to submitting clearance requests
- Complete jobs including billing and purchase invoicing by month end
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Some experience in the field of European logistics at an operational level
- Comprehensive IT skills in freight systems, Word, and Excel
- Experience in customer service via email and phone
- Good customer service skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience of working to targets and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and telephone
- Strong organisational skills
- Computer literate and able to adapt to in-house systems
