Catch 22 are currently recruiting for a Domestic Supervisor on behalf of our Client, an Educational Establishment, based in Manchester, M13.
Hours: 35 per week (7.5 hours per day, 30-minute unpaid break)
Pay: £13.82 per hour (25,152.40 per annum)
The role
You will support the Assistant Domestic Coordinator and work cohesively with other supervisory-management colleagues for the provision of domestic services within Halls of Residence, offering support and motivation supervision and guidance for the Domestic Services team in their day-to-day tasks and responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Support the ADC and management team in ensuring the monitoring of domestic services standards, undertaking corrective supervision and training/coaching.
- Assist the ADC in the day-to-day planning and delivery of domestic services to the agreed operating standards.
- Providing appropriate and timely services to all student residents and conference/vacation guests.
- To assist in planning staffing requirements on a day-to-day and periodic basis.
- To assist with induction, training/learning and development of staff, as agreed and required.
- To assist with staff performance management matters under the guidance of the Senior Domestic Co-ordinator or Assistant Domestic Co-ordinator.
- To assist in monitoring and managing stock, including white goods, laundry services, chemical supplies and equipment.
- To monitor staff timesheets.
- To ensure compliance and implementation of policies and procedures are undertaken to the required standards, by the domestic staff.
- To undertake such other duties (for the office or more widely in support of enhancing the student experience) as directed by the Assistant Domestic Co-ordinator.
Requirements
- Experience of working with domestic services processes in a customer facing domestic environment.
- A Good Understanding of Health and Safety Issues through appropriate training and practice - including risk assessments, COSHH, Manual Handling.
- Able to supervise staff, co-ordinate work activities, and train staff on the job.
- Good communication skills
- Good organisational skills, and able to prioritise work in a busy environment and meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify problems and resolve issues effectively.
- Good computer skills with experience working with Excel, Word, and MS Outlook.
- Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing the student experience, excellent customer service and to the University's values and behaviours.
Desirable/Essential experience & skills
- To have or be willing to be put through an Enhanced DBS check.
- IOSH managing safely qualification or willingness to work towards achieving this qualification.
