Legal and Land Manager is a crucial role in the property department, responsible for managing property acquisition processes and ensuring legal compliance. This role requires an excellent understanding of property law and acquisition, as well as strong negotiation skills. Ideally you will have a background in Utilities or private Practice with Utilities clients.

My client is a dynamic early-stage/startup Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) backed by private equity. They specialise in adopting and owning electricity connections for new build assets including; EV charging infrastructure, data centres, battery storage facilities, commercial & industrial premises and residential developments.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. To Draft, review and negotiate a range of legal commercial agreements and and assess company risk within legal documentation, working closely with their external solicitors to propose lower-risk solutions
2. To acquire land rights for their utilities inclusive of acquisitions, leases, deeds of servitude and equivalent consents across the UK
3. To manage the portfolio of projects associated with their clients' developments, ensuring effective communications are provided to all stakeholders and consents are completed efficiently
4. To liaise between the developers, agents and customer project teams, advising them of progress with negotiations, key areas of debate and concerns and contributing to successful solutions
5. To develop relationships with all parties involved in the land rights process to ensure efficient processes to benefit the organisation and their end customers
Profile
- Proven experience in land acquisition, real estate negotiation, or property management, preferably in the energy or utilities sector.
- In-depth knowledge of land acquisition laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
