  • Job Type: Part-time (22 hours per week across 3 days)

Reed are working with an FE College seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Travel & Tourism. This role is ideal for a professional with industry experience in Travel, Tourism & Aviation, who is passionate about teaching and sharing their knowledge with students. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and support to our learners.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Teach a range of units from Travel, Tourism & Aviation programmes (e.g., NCFE levels 1-3 or degree programme).
  • Use industry knowledge and experience to enrich lessons with real-world examples.
  • Develop and design learning materials suitable for a diverse range of learners.
  • Act as Programme Tutor, offering support and guidance to students and staff.
  • Prepare, mark, assess, and record student work to meet Quality Assurance and self-assessment requirements.
  • Implement College Quality Assurance procedures and carry out relevant recording and administrative tasks.
  • Monitor and report on continuous performance and improvement within the provision.
  • Represent the course at exam boards and similar events.
  • Introduce innovative ways to embed English and Mathematics skills within the learning environment.
  • Promote links with employers & external bodies and liaise effectively as required.
  • Attend Department/College team meetings and participate in curriculum development.
  • Ensure inclusive interaction with learners and foster good relations between different groups.
  • Work closely with parents, guardians, and external support agencies to overcome barriers to learning progression.
  • Participate in the College's Appraisal scheme and undertake professional development as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience in Industry of Travel, Tourism & Aviation.
  • Teaching Qualification - preferred.
  • Qualified to Level 2 in English and maths or willing to achieve this within a specified timeframe.
  • Good administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently to meet departmental and college needs.
  • Ability to motivate and work effectively as a team member.
  • Computer literacy.

Desirable:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience in various positions within the travel & aviation sectors.
  • Ground operations or flying experience.
  • Experience of FE/HE programmes and course tutorship.
  • Knowledge of current initiatives in Aviation and Travel.
  • Experience of IV/IQA planning and assessment.
  • Assessor Awards.
