An established organisation in Birmingham are seeking to bring on an ambitious individual to take on the role of Assistant Finance Business Partner in their team. The organisation are seeking an individual who has prior experience with budgeting and forecasting and completing detailed variance analysis. The organisation has gone through a period of growth following a successful acquisition, and are looking bolster their finance function. This is a substantial opportunity for someone to take the step up in their career and take the reigns of a Finance Business Partner position. The role initially begins as an assistant, but with time and as you become more confident in the role, there is a clear pathway to becoming a Finance Business Partner, where you will be an integral part of the finance function of the organisation. In this role, you will be heavily involved with the budgeting and forecast process, you will help produce the budget and the forecast, and then be the first point of call for a variety of internal and external stakeholders. These individuals will be looking to understand their budget and where their allocation lies. Your responsibility will be to communicate with these individuals in a manner which they can understand. Alongside budgeting and forecasting, you will also be involved with the production of management account packs for the organisation, your thoughts and commentary will be heard and valued when speaking in financial meetings with the CFO and Head of Finance, both individuals who you will have regular contact with in your time in the role.

Skills Required

  • To be currently studying either your ACCA or CIMA Qualification, or to have already sat a number of your examinations in your chosen discipline. This organisation are looking for individuals who are on their journey to becoming chartered.
  • To have exposure to the budgeting and forecasting process and to have experience communicating with a variety of different stakeholders and individuals. It is important to be confident in your communication style in this role.
  • To have experience with the production of management accounts in your career, this is not a dominant part of this position but will require prior experience and knowledge as you may rely on these skills in this role.
