Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Premises Assistant to join our team at a small cluster of schools in Essex. This role will be primarily based at one site but may require occasional travel to other nearby sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of school premises, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks across school premises
- Ensure all areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained
- Set up and arrange furniture and equipment for school events and activities
- Monitor and report any health and safety issues
- Assist with the security of the premises, including opening and closing procedures
- Liaise with external contractors and oversee their work when required
- Support the management of school facilities and grounds, including minor gardening tasks
- Respond promptly to any maintenance requests from staff
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repairs
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to travel between sites when required
- A proactive and positive approach to work
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations
Additional Information:
- A full driving license is desirable due to the requirement to travel between sites.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check.
