Job Description:

  • Manage a group of suppliers
  • Help improve the performance of underperforming suppliers by analysing issues and implementing action plans.
  • Join multisite supplier business reviews with an cross-functional team.
  • Work with the team to ensure smooth transfers of work packages within the supply chain.
  • Assist the Supplier Performance Quality Leader (SPQL) in rolling out supplier performance strategies and initiatives.
  • Manage expectations with key customers to ensure they are fully satisfied.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse, process, confirm, and communicate requirements to suppliers.
  • Review and upload schedules received from suppliers.
  • Suggest and help implement solutions in case of shortages.
  • Negotiate deadlines and quantities with suppliers to meet business needs.
  • Oversee the progress of manufacturing at the supplier's site.
  • Manage delivery receipts and the flow of returns to suppliers.

Handling Delivery and Quality Issues

  • Reconcile performance with suppliers throughout the month.
  • Measure and analyse supplier performance with the SPQL and create action plans if targets aren't met.
  • Identify and resolve root causes of issues.
  • Issue warnings if there's a risk with a supplier.
  • Communicate major program changes to suppliers.
  • Monitor the implementation of changes.
  • Implement recovery plans and manage priorities according to program needs.

Regular Supplier Reviews

  • Schedule visits and meetings with suppliers based on risk and importance.
  • Lead supplier visits if needed.
  • Measure, reconcile, and analyze supplier performance, and create action plans with the SPQL if targets aren't met.

What We Need From You:

  • Good knowledge of ERP systems and MRP2 principles in SAP.
  • Experience in the engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and negotiating skills.
  • Good business understanding and commercial awareness.
  • Experience in handling engineering material.
