Prospero Teaching are supporting a Secondary School on the edge of the New Forest who are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join the team from September. The role is full time and will initially be until Christmas, but could be extended.

This particular role will be to support students who are struggling learning in the classroom. Therefore you will be working in within the schools 'Learning Hub' to support students with their work but to also try to eventually reintegrate them back into the classroom. The students will have various needs, such as ADHD, Autism, SEMH or PTSD and many of the students also have an EHCP. You will need to be able to build strong relationships with the students you work with and have a genuine passion to see them succeed. This role will have difficulties at times but will also be extremely rewarding.

The ideal candidate:

  • A recent graduate who wants work experience within Special Educational Needs
  • Experience of supporting students with additional needs
  • Experience of supporting those with complex needs in a care setting
  • Strong teamwork ethic
  • Driven, energetic and keen to pursue a career in education and special needs
  • reliable, consistent and caring

The role will consist of:

  • Providing tailored support and working with children with SEN and complex needs
  • Creating a safe environment that allows children and other students have fun, learn and succeed
  • Academic support

  • Pay: From £85.09 per day
  • Hours: Full time - Monday Friday 8.40am -15.20pm
  • Start Date: September 2024
