This pivotal role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of maintaining and repairing. Heavy equipment within their workshop. You will lead a team of skilled engineers, ensuring. that all work is performed efficiently and to the highest standards.

In addition to your leadership responsibilities, as a Workshop Engineer Team Leader, you will also be expected to actively participate in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment within their workshop. You will use your technical expertise to perform repairs, diagnose issues, and ensure that all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards. This hands-on approach will not only allow you to lead by example but also to contribute directly to the success of our maintenance operations.

Job responsibilities

  • Direct and manage a team of workshop engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages skill development and high performance.
  • Schedule and delegate tasks effectively, ensuring optimal workload distribution and adherence to maintenance timelines.
  • Oversee all aspects of equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring all procedures are executed proficiently and safely
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance maintenance procedures and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge, particularly in new techniques or technologies relevant to heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Mentor team members, providing guidance and feedback to assist in their professional growth.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain high-quality control, regularly reviewing team output to ensure that all work meets the necessary standards.

About you

  • Experience in a leadership role within a technical or engineering environment.
  • strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisive actions under pressure.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations specific to mechanical and engineering workspaces.
  • Proven experience in managing a workshop and expertise in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with strong communication skills to effectively manage and inspire a team. In-depth knowledge of maintenance techniques and standards for heavy equipment.

Desirable

  • Educational Background: A qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
