Our client, a well-established organisation based in Tipton, is seeking a Management Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic and dedicated finance team. With a focus on accuracy and attention to detail, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the organisation's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate expertise in balance sheet reconciliation on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with accruals, prepayments, and reserves to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support the preparation of management accounts, providing key insights and analysis.
  • Take responsibility for covering the company payroll in the absence of the payroll team, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Contribute to the executive payroll, providing support based on specific requirements.
  • Assist in stocktakes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain an accurate inventory record.
  • Facilitate VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Provide cover for the purchase ledger and manage accounts payable in the absence of the finance team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of petty cash and bank accounts when necessary.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills by supervising staff when required, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
  • Assist in managing the workplace pension scheme, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with auditors during the year-end audit process, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Contribute to the completion of national statistics surveys, ensuring reliable and accurate data.
  • Undertake other finance duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with good working knowledge of other financial software and Sage 50 Payroll
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and work under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, willing to take on new tasks and challenges.
