SEN Teaching Assistant

Posted by Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited.

Your new company
Here at Hays, we are working with fantastic primary schools based in the Wigan area to help support them in their search for teaching assistants to work on a 1:1 basis with pupils in various year groups. These schools are looking to appoint individuals after half-term but would like to see a selection of CV's first. The roles on offer are a mixture of part-time and full-time, so if you have a preference please get in touch to find out more. You should be confident and committed to the role and be willing to promote the school's aims and values to all pupils.

Your new role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your job will be to enhance and enrich the learning of your 1:1 pupil and, depending on the split of the role, you may be expected to provide general classroom support. You will need to be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the pupils and the school. You may be expected to support the class teacher by setting up activities and supporting children throughout the day if you are not working on a 1:1 basis.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must have recent experience working with children in the last 2 years and ideally have previous experience supporting SEN children. You should feel confident working with children in a 1:1 setting as well as being friendly and enthusiastic. You will need to be available to start after the October half-term for this role.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a highly competitive daily rate and will be working as an integral part of a welcoming team of TA's. You will therefore have the opportunity to further develop your own teaching assistant skills and experience.
