Interim Fleet Manager

Adecco's specialist Property Services Division have partnered exclusively with a long-term client to assist them in sourcing an interim Fleet Manager for a period of 3-6 months. This post is for an immediate start and could also become a permanent opportunity in the future.

The role has been requested as an interim, however for the right candidate we may be able to consider a fixed term contract on the client's books.

This role will require 1 day minimum in the office based in Durham per week.

Purpose of the Role

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring an available and compliant vehicle fleet that meets the operational needs of the organisation, which is a large housing association based in the North East and managing around 200 vehicles.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to present to all levels of staff.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to balance competing demands in own and departmental workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to take ownership of problems and make risk-based assessments over the use of resources and management of situations.
  • Ability to make financial decisions considering whole life costings, repair costs etc.
  • Good general ICT, MS office skills.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of legislation surrounding fleet H&S Issues (i.e. tyre depth, lighting etc).
  • Awareness of risk and issue management and associated methodologies.
  • Excellent Health and Safety knowledge applicable to fleet management.

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a fleet/transport environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing budgets.
  • Experience of supply chain management and contract negotiation

Salary/Rates

  • £250-350 a day
  • 1 office day requirement per week
