Procurement Manager

Procurement Manager | Nottinghamshire | Salary up to £58,000 per annum

Cherry Professional are recruiting for an energetic, creative and experienced Procurement Manager to lead commercial and supplier engagement efforts for our fleet portfolio of spend. This is a great opportunity to drive creative commercial value and build strategic partnerships in a fast-paced delivery environment.

This role requires candidates to have an understanding of Fleet and Fleet management. All applicants needs to have this knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
  • Sourcing of and negotiating with reliable suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
  • Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
  • Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Establishing quality control and ensuring that stock meets company standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely deliveries of the correct items and services.
  • Ensure and monitor that when goods are received the requestor receipts them on the database.
  • Identify and monitor high volumes of stock being held or ordered to determine a best practice.
  • Work with the Finance team and end users to identify and make improvements in the purchase
  • order and goods receipt processes.
  • Build and implement subcontractor performance and management systems to support the
  • Operation Management team.
  • Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
  • Reduce unnecessary expenses and increase fuel efficiency
  • Secure the fleet's compliance with applicable regulations
  • Analyse fleet performance data and improve accordingly
  • Report fleet performance and finances to upper management
  • Source and negotiate the best commercial Insurance cover for the fleet.
  • Source and negotiate the best commercial fuel purchasing considering driver base and coverage areas.
  • Vehicle inspection and maintenance
  • Real-time vehicle location tracking

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a procurement manager role, ideally within the engineering sector
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration
  • Proven experience managing supply chain operations.
  • Procurement cost management and analysis skills are essential
  • Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, and/or
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Management and leadership skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise task
