Business Development & Marketing Manager (Energy & Infrastructure) - Leading Global Law Firm

A leading global law firm requires a resilient and tenacious business development and marketing specialist with drive, enthusiasm and a forward-thinking mindset to provide support to their London Energy & Infrastructure practice by assisting partners and associates with the development and implementation of BD and marketing plans and initiatives.

The London Energy & Infrastructure practice works across the full industry spectrum including energy transition, renewables, nuclear, oil and gas and infrastructure. This will be a broad product role as the lawyers cover product areas including project finance, refinancing, M&A, construction and regulatory issues for a wide range of clients including governments, sponsors, contractors, financial institutions and financial investors. The team are regularly ranked as the number one firm for renewables work and advise on some of the biggest and most strategic mandates in the energy and infrastructure sectors globally. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you will have daily line management responsibility for two advisors. Although London based there will be a large amount of interaction with global colleagues in this role and you will enjoy work that is always varied and will benefit from significant opportunities for learning and growth in a supportive environment. The Business Development & Marketing Manager will lead the day-to-day work of the practice, assisting partners, counsel and associates on the development and implementation of BD and marketing plans and strategy. The work will include initiatives relating to client targeting, product specific business development, pitching, practice marketing, management of the end-to-end directory and awards submissions process, events and profile raising. The role holder will also work in partnership with the Managing Relationship Partners for UK Government. This will involve supporting the team to drive revenue growth and protect existing mature revenue streams, acting as an ambassador for cross-selling, intelligence sharing, identifying new opportunities and winning new business.

A successful candidate will an experienced business development and marketing professional with proven business development experience gained whilst working in a similar role, preferably within a legal or professional services firm. A team player with a can-do attitude and outstanding communication and influencing skills, the Business Development & Marketing Manager should be able to demonstrate experience in client relationship management for key clients and past success in pitching and creating client documents to tight deadlines with high attention to detail. Experience of or an interest in the developing energy and infrastructure markets will also be essential.
