A well-established freight forwarding company looking to expand their team.

Their current new opportunity is for a candidate with industry experience and wanting to settle in a well rounded and family fun environment.

Salary

  • Circa £32,000 - £35,000 PA Depending on experience.
  • Overtime available.

Requirements

  • Car Licence, due to location
  • Basic DBS Certificate
  • Checkable 5-year employment history
  • Works well under pressure and too tight deadline

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years working in import department within freight forwarding.
  • Must have imports start to finish experience
  • Pref, Live animal exports
  • Experience using Chief (CDS an advantage)
  • Must have experience in customs entries and sea freight quotes.
  • ETS transfers
  • Boxtop operating system (advantageous)
  • Descartes (Advantageous)

Duties

  • ·

Imports

  • Responsible for the movement of goods from another country, ensuring the transit and delivery is made on time
  • Sea freight Quoting
  • Submitting customs Clearance Declaration, via Chief / SAD / IFD / ICR
  • Liaise regularly with overseas offices, partners, or agents
  • Responsible for arranging and completing all associated paperwork, which documents the nature of the goods being imported from abroad and that they are legal and legitimate
  • Check all is in order in this respect to import quotas, tariffs, trade agreements and HM Revenue and Customs regulations
  • Responsible for costing jobs and ensuring maximum profitability for the organization
  • Check goods in as they arrive against paperwork to ensure all goods ordered are accounted for
  • Establishing contacts and relationships with HM Customs to ensure efficient transfer of goods through the legal process
  • Manage deadlines and sometimes difficult situations, therefore an element of negotiation is required to be able to meet timescales
  • Arranging Custom Clearances
  • Arranging ETSF Movements to our Bonded Warehouse
