Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and wellbeing of your community? We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Public Protection Officer to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the frontline of public safety, delivering a high-quality, customer-focused enforcement service across various areas within Public Protection.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and manage a diverse caseload of public protection issues, ensuring legal compliance and enforcement of regulations.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and sampling programs to ensure statutory duties are met.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including businesses, residents, and external agencies, to support public safety initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on technical areas of public protection, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service projects, aiming for continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Represent the service in meetings, forums, and working groups as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

**What We're Looking For:

  • Experience managing a multi-disciplinary enforcement caseload and delivering high-quality enforcement outcomes, including successful prosecutions.
  • A solid understanding of public protection services and the ability to work effectively with external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • A degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is essential; membership of a relevant professional organization is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mobile working tools.
  • A valid UK driving license is required.
