Assistant Accountant
at their office in Newton Aycliffe. Our client is an innovative, £20m turnover business, which serve reputable companies across diverse industries. This is an excellent chance to work in a role with clear routes to progress to management and perform leadership duties. This role would suit a driven individual, who can meet deadlines and manage various tasks from basic financial duties, through to those more senior in responsibility.
Duties as an Assistant Accountant:
- Managing the purchase ledger and sales ledger
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Dealing with VAT returns and payroll
- Overseeing statutory documentation
- Handling queries and updating systems
- Updating systems and spreadsheets
- Assist in preparing budgets
- Monitoring financial performance
- Resolving issues and process improvement
- Managing and motivating a team
- Financial forecasting
- Developing internal processes
- Implementing and controlling changes
- Ensuring accounts are produced promptly
- Developing into covering more analytical duties
Skills:
- Qualified AAT Level 4 upwards or qualified by experience
- Personable in approach with excellent communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills and a desire to learn
- Can progress into overseeing and managing a team
- The ability to multitask and organise tasks
- Excellent IT skills including using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
To be successful as an Assistant Accountant and join our client in this exciting prospect, you will have come from a similar position or have covered similar duties. You will need to be an enthusiastic individual with excellent organisation skills.
