We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable RE Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Biggleswade. This is a permanent role starting from September 2024, ideal for an individual with a passion for religious education and a commitment to student development.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in Religious Education to students of varying abilities.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in line with curriculum standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive learning environment that accommodates students' diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new curriculum materials and teaching strategies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school-wide professional development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in religious education, such as a degree in Theology or Religious Studies.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in a relevant subject area.
  • Prior experience teaching RE at the secondary education level.
  • Strong understanding of the current curriculum and pedagogical theories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
