We are on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our vibrant kitchen brigade. If you have a flair for casual dining and excel in crafting delectable brunch dishes, this role is your calling. As a Sous Chef, you will be instrumental in collaborating with our Head Chef to deliver culinary excellence, ensuring our food not only tastes great but is presented impeccably.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen operations, upholding our commitment to quality and service.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and culinary excellence.
  • Oversee inventory management, supply ordering, and food cost control to enhance profitability.
  • Take charge of brunch, lunch, and dinner services, ensuring each dish meets our high standards of presentation and consistency.
  • Uphold all health and safety regulations, as well as food hygiene standards, within the kitchen.
  • Contribute to menu development and seasonal updates, infusing creativity and current trends into our menu.
  • Address kitchen issues swiftly to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Assess kitchen staff performance, offering feedback and opportunities for professional development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Sous Chef, preferably in a bustling restaurant or café specialising in high-end brunch and dinner services.
  • Adept culinary skills with a focus on café-style brunch cuisine.
  • Leadership and communication skills that inspire and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Strong organisational and time management capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of kitchen operations, inventory management, and food safety practices.
  • A creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation.
  • Resilience and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A culinary degree or relevant qualifications would be advantageous.
