We are currently looking for a Public Conveniences Operatives who can work closely with the Conwy County Borough Council .

Role: Public Conveniences Operatives

Location: Colwyn Bay

Pay Rate: £11.59 per hour

Shift Pattern: Full time, 37 hours pw

The Purpose of this Role:-

To be responsible for and undertake Public Conveniences cleansing rounds in accordance with the agreed schedule and frequency, including thorough Cleansing of all aspects of Public Conveniences cleansing and maintenance, litter picking and emptying of bins. Also to be responsible for the round's vehicle and items of equipment.

Requirements:

1. MUST be willing to work any 4 or 5 days out of 7 (WILL INCLUDE weekend and bank holiday working)

2. MUST have a FULL driving licence and able to drive a manual small van

3. Physically fit & good with the general public

4. Able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team

5. Will be required to work in various location around Conwy County

6. Home to work transport is the responsibility of the successful candidate

Your responsibilities are to:-

1. To drive vehicles provided utilising due care and attention and undertake daily checks to the vehicle

2. To be able to use own initiative and work with limited amount of supervision.

3. To utilise various items of cleaning equipment and cleansing products as necessary.

4. To undertake various duties on a designated Public Conveniences cleansing schedule, to include:

  • Cleaning, washing, sweeping, mopping and power cleansing of all internal surfaces, including floors, wall and ceiling surfaces, door and windows, sanitary fittings and associated fixtures, using where appropriate, cleansing tools/equipment and materials/chemicals
  • The emptying of litter bins and receptacles.
  • The removal of graffiti from all surfaces.
  • Replenishment of toilet tissue/toilet roll holders and liquid soap dispenser as required.
  • The polishing and dusting of designated areas
  • The opening and closing of the premises (as well as locking and unlocking).
  • The reporting of all defects/problems.

5. Such other duties as may be required, reasonably falling within the purview of the post, eg. reporting/giving statement to Police in regard to vandalism/abuse of public conveniences.

6. To complete all necessary paperwork

7. To co-operate with your employer in fulfilling his statutory duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

8. To comply at all times with the content and advice contained in all relevant Safe Working Codes of Practice

9. If work is not available in the job for which you are employed, you may be asked to do any job within your competence, up to and including your current grade.

10. To take special care in the method of handling any discarded items.

11. To wear appropriate protective clothing at all times and taking into account particular circumstances.

12. To respond to emergency situations - spillages, leaks, vandalism etc - as they may arise

13. To work any five out of seven days as required by your line manager.

14. To work 7hrs 24 minutes between 7am and 9pm as directed by your line manager.
