Accounts Assistant
Location: Kettering Office
Salary: Up to £26,000
Permanent Position - 37.5 hours a week
About Us:
In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for the timely and accurate financial transactional processing for a portfolio of well-known brands. Our team handles VAT, Payroll, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Bank transactions, and Month-end reconciliation and adjustments.
The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Junior Accounts Assistant who is enthusiastic about starting their career in accounting. This is a fully office-based role where you will gain hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic environment. We welcome individuals with 6-12 months of experience in accounts or purchase ledger roles. This particular business can offer extensive initial support but also study support too (ACCA, CIMA, CIPS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Process financial transactions accurately and timely
- Handle VAT, Payroll, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, and Bank transactions
- Perform month-end reconciliation and adjustments
- Manage workload in a multi-client environment with potentially conflicting deadlines
What We're Looking For:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for customer service excellence and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Relevant experience in a similar role covering most of the same transactional areas
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage
- AAT, CIMA, or ACCA trainee or qualified by experience
