We have an excellent Locum Independent Reviewing Officer opportunity available in the Tameside , Greater Manchester area. In the role you will build a strong, supportive relationship with the Cared for Children on your caseload and chair their statutory reviews, including children placed for adoption

Responsibilities:
- To provide an independent chairing service for multi-agency and departmental meetings in matters relating to Cared for Children
- To facilitate inter-agency and departmental working in relation to Child Protection and Looked after Children through effective communication with all relevant agencies
- To promote and monitor the statutory requirements for Looked after Children to enable a consistent and high quality service to children and their families who are receiving services from the Department
To be considered for the IRO role...ideally, you will have:
- BSc Social Work or equivalent
- Social Work England registration
- Experience of chairing Cared for Children reviews
- In-depth knowledge legal frameworks with associated statutory legislation and statutory guidance
- Ensure that the voice of the child remains central to care planning
- Ability to challenge when progress of planning is not improving outcomes for children
- Ability to promote partnership working to improve the lived experience of the child
- Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to performance indicators
