Job Title: Estimator
Location: Pontypool
Salary: Depends on experience

Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday, days regular

Here at The Recruitment Co, we are currently recruiting an estimator to work for a company in Pontypool on a temp to perm basis.

Produce timely and accurate priced quotations from technical drawings and site plans. Proactively react to customer enquiries, new product
opportunities, market intelligence from customer feedback. Assist in sales, CAD drawings, CNC programming and administration functions for the
department. Achieve set targets, customer service levels maximum profitability and growth in line with company strategy.

Main job roles:

  • Produce timely response to technical enquiries from customers via telephone, e-mail, website, fax and trade counter
  • Take off product requirements from customer drawings and site plans
  • Produce costed estimates on bespoke products
  • Provide competitive prices on all quotations whilst striving to maintain maximum profit margin
  • Follow up and progress quotations with customers, maintains and analyse all won/lost information
  • Report quote success rate to management on a regular basis
  • Produce 2D/3D CAD drawings using Autodesk Inventor
  • Programme drawings for nesting on CNC machine
  • Manage an archive of all customer sites with drawings, quotations, build schedules and customer correspondence
  • Identify areas for further market and product opportunities and present information to management
  • Assist with marketing activities and technical updates to company website and social media channels
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and processes
  • Contribute towards the smooth running and continuous improvement of the company as a whole.

Required Experience

  • Experience of the house building sector or knowledge of the construction industry Desirable
  • Technical industry knowledge
  • Estimating experience
  • Sales and Customer Service Skills
  • Communication skills, written and oral
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Sage 200, Autocad 2D & 3D
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Problem solving skills
  • Time management skills, ability to manage workloads to meet deadlines
  • Organised, methodical and efficient - pays attention to detail, self starter, complete finisher
