Building Control Surveyor - Grade 6-8

Our client is a local authority based in Berkshire which is seeking an experienced Building Control Surveyor to join them for a contract role.

You will lead on the processing and scrutiny of Building Regulation applications, carry out inspections of building works and provide general building control advice to the public, stakeholders and colleagues.

As this is a Senior level role, your professional input will focus on the scrutiny/assessment of more complex applications and schemes. This will include the scrutiny of Full Plans applications, Building Notices, and Regularisation Applications for compliance with the Building Regulations, the Building Act and other relevant legislation including examination of structure details and calculations.

You will be required to carry out investigations of existing site conditions where appropriate. Applicants for this post should be degree educated in Surveying and have a proven experience in project managing the improvement and disrepair projects for a Local Authority.

Candidate must be registered with the Building Safety Regulator to at least Class 2F. You will need experience of working within a politically driven organisation operating at a senior level with elected or board members. The role will initially be offered for 3 months, but it could be extended beyond this The rate offered is £45/hr Umbrella and this role is inside IR35. You must have full driving license, access to a car and business use car insurance. Flexible working arrangements are offered. A full JD available on application.
