Night Shift Production Manager - Reading
Salary: £34,900 per annum
Hours: Night Shift - Sunday-Thursday 4pm-2am
Are you a motivated and experienced production professional looking to lead a dynamic team on the night shift? We are seeking a dedicated Night Shift Production Manager to join our team in Reading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Support: Assist the Production Manager and Shift Manager with day-to-day operational issues to ensure smooth running of the production department.
- Site Responsibility: Take full site responsibility on days when the Shift Manager or Senior Management are not on site.
- Staff Management: Ensure that all areas of production are adequately staffed, resourced, and utilised to achieve operational targets.
- Probation Reviews: Actively manage staff probations, including conducting probation reviews.
- Training: Take responsibility for staff training, including on-the-job training and health and safety training.
- Health & Safety: Ensure adherence to Health and Safety legislation, policies, and procedures, and promote a culture of safe working, including management of all PPE.
- Performance Review: Review the performance of production staff, identify training and development needs, and implement necessary training while acting as a mentor.
- Team Collaboration: Develop a culture of team working across all departments and between shifts.
- Communication: Maintain clear and concise communication channels across all operational departments and other business functions.
- Resource Coordination: Work with the packing/loading department to ensure a sufficient supply of linen.
- Staff Welfare: Manage all production staff within your remit, including welfare issues and monitoring staff annual leave.
- Housekeeping: Ensure that the factory is always left in a clean and tidy condition at the start and end of the shift.
- Confidentiality: Adhere to strict confidentiality standards regarding all Company financial, salary, and HR matters.
- Quality Monitoring: Actively monitor quality and work with staff and the Engineering Department to deliver the Quality Standards.
- Continued Development: Complete necessary continued personal development.
- Ad hoc Duties: Perform other duties as required.
About You:
- Proven experience in a production management role, preferably within a night shift environment.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and develop staff effectively.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practices.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
- Reliable and able to work independently.
