Finance Administrator

THE VACANCY

Bloxham School is seeking to appoint a Finance Administrator to support the Finance team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sales Ledger:

  • Credit control.
  • Providing prompt responses to billing queries from parents having discussed with the appropriate members of staff.
  • Invoicing.
  • Allocating receipts and reconciling customer accounts.
  • Processing bursary applications and issuing bursary letters.
  • Supporting sales ledger duties including extras charges: registration fees, deposits, and acceptance fees: fees in advance scheme; school trips; laptop scheme.

Purchase Ledger:

  • Checking the bank payment runs match the supplier invoices.
  • Maintaining the gas and electricity billing spreadsheets.
  • Collating and issuing the gas and electricity charges for lets.
  • Processing purchase invoices.
  • Supporting purchase ledger duties including credit cards; purchase invoices; purchase orders; purchase ledger correspondence.

Banking

  • Processing credit card receipts using a credit card machine.
  • Setting up bank payments.
  • Handling petty cash, ensuring authorisation levels have been met. Counting and recording cash received.
  • Supporting banking duties including posting bank receipts, bank reconciliations.
  • Supporting the Finance team.

KEY INFORMATION

Start Date: As soon as possible

Accountable to: Finance Controller

Working Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm

Salary: £32,000 per annum depending on experience

Closing Date: 9am on Wednesday 29th May 2024

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous experience of working in an accounts team
  • Strong ICT skills with ability to use Word and Excel
  • High standards of written and oral communication
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to develop an effective rapport with staff and parents
  • Ability to work as a member of a small team with shared goals
  • Ability to work under time pressure
  • A bookkeeping/accountancy qualification eg. AAT
  • Previous experience of ISAMs and iFinance
