Trade Sales Manager, Products into Merchants and Contractors, Midlands, South West and South Wales.

£50,000 basic + bonus scheme (£60,000 OTE) + Electric Company Car + Benefits

This is a 'hands-on' Trade Sales role with a well-recognised manufacturer of flooring products with decades of case studies and an unrivalled reputation as a premium product provider. This role is managing the relationships with the Flooring Contractors and the Trade Distributors and requires an enigmatic sales professional who is willing to 'roll their sleeves up' as required.

What is Required to be the Trade Sales Manager

  • Proven experience in selling products to contractors and distributors. Distributors could be flooring distributors, builders merchants, DIY Centres, Plumbers Merchants, Tool Merchants, etc.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Technically proficient and eager to learn new products and systems.
  • Experience in demonstrating products and sometimes assisting customers on site. Therefore you must be practical, pragmatic and willing to put on overalls and 'get stuck in'.
  • Commercially creative and proactive in seeking new opportunities.
  • A team player who enjoys working in a fun and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities of the Trade Sales Manager:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with trade distributors and flooring contractors.
  • Drive sales through push selling to distributors, winning larger projects, and backselling through the distribution channel.
  • Deliver comprehensive product training to both distributors and contractors.
  • Provide on-site visits, technical advice, and specifications for tenders.
  • Foster excellent relationships with all customers and identify new market opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records within our CRM system.
  • Explore untapped potential within the trade decorating merchants sector.
  • Engage with major trade clients through events and activities including corporate hospitality at sports events, golf days and trade events.
