What you'll be doing:
- Effectively managing staff, planning laboratory activities, and contributing to cross-departmental objectives.
- Recruit, train, and position staff while supporting STEM initiatives with schools, colleges, and prospective students.
- Manage customer projects, including product development, application testing, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate in NPD meetings to ensure timely updates and progress.
- Develop and enforce lab procedures, ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations, COSHH, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate and enforce data management systems, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant laboratory operations.
- Manage departmental budgets and produce monthly reports, contributing to strategic planning and resource allocation.
Your background:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven background in cosmetic and/or homecare formulation development
- Extensive knowledge of GMP/GLP standards
- Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Excellent attention to detail, self-motivated, and driven
- Ideally, you will be familiar with relevant cosmetic/detergent certification requirements
