In this rewarding role, you will provide nutritious and delicious meals for our residents, while also supporting self-catering and cooking sessions that empower our residents with essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage in our resident care philosophy to deliver the highest level of service and satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present nutritious meals tailored to the needs and preferences of residents.
  • Monitor every aspect of food handling, preparation, and presentation to ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations within the kitchen to ensure efficient meal service.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with local suppliers for quality ingredients.
  • Manage food and equipment orders, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained.
  • Create innovative and nutritious menu ideas for weekly rotations that cater to resident preferences.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen.
  • Ensure the proper usage of kitchen equipment, adhering to all operating instructions.
  • Provide professional, caring, and prompt service to residents at all times.
  • Conduct engaging cooking lessons with residents, fostering independence and culinary skills.

Person Specification:Education, Training, and Qualifications:

  • Level 2/3 Food Hygiene Certificate required.

Experience and Job-Related Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience working in a kitchen environment.
  • Previous experience in the care industry is preferred but not mandatory.
