An excellent opportunity for experienced Quality Technician to join a well-established company based in Croydon

Job Type: 3-6-month contract with potential to lead to permanent

Salary: Starting salary £23,500 - £26,000 (depending on skills and experience).

Location: Croydon, Greater London.

They are world leader in the design and manufacture of mechanical and electronic position sensors. The company's continued growth and success is based on a high level of specialised knowledge and the high performing team of people who work there (~60 people).

The team includes engineers (providing product and in-house equipment development), a fully supportive office administration team, and a highly skilled operations team. The company has a wide range of manufacturing process capabilities including CNC machining, fully automated PCBA, and glass processing.

What is the role?

You will undertake the full range of QC operations within the QC department, ensuring the highest possible quality standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To carry out product testing using a range of equipment and principles
  • To Inspect goods, parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to instructions, drawings and other manufacturing documentation
  • Measure and check dimensions with digital calipers
  • Measure and check product-specific properties using a range of equipment such as optical electronic measuring systems, microscopes, jigs and fixtures
  • Regular recording of accurate production information and quality results in a database
  • Maintain production quality by strictly following policies and procedures
  • Take part and contribute to regular team meetings and make suggestions for improvements
  • To have a good understanding of all departments and be flexible and willing to rotate as necessary

Essential Attributes

  • Previous experience in a Quality role (essential)
  • Relevant qualification or previous experience in engineering in a manufacturing role (desirable)
  • To have a good understanding of English - both written and oral
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Be confident in using and understanding technical terms and drawings
  • Basic computer skills to ensure that all documentation and databases are completed correctly
  • High level of manual dexterity and hand eye coordination
  • Able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organised, able to prioritise and manage a busy workload and work to a high output level
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proactive and self-starting
  • A flexible, can-do approach
  • Be comfortable with working alone, sitting still, and concentrating for periods of time
  • Able to communicate and work with individuals at all levels

Compensation & Benefits

  • Fixed term role 3 to 6 months, Monday to Friday (Full time - 39 hrs)
