General Catering Assistant

About The Role
To work as a team, responsible for the efficient and timely preparation of a quality service.

To assist in smooth running of the of the retail shops on the campus, in a high quality of hygiene standards always.

You will be working Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 15:30, 30 hours per week, on a permanent, part-time basis.

Uniform provided, free parking, free shuttle bus to and from Leatherhead train station to campus.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role:

  • To comply with company and client policies of quality and standards of all services at the Contract.
  • Ensure that customers always receive a prompt and courteous service.
  • Adhere to company policy on dealing with customer comments.
  • Maintain Contract health and safety, and hygiene standards following current legislation.
  • Ensure personal appearance, including uniform, are always of the highest standard in line with company policy.
  • To be trained to use ordering system to keep the shop fully stocked.

Details of the Role:

  • To ensure that all clients and customers are dealt with promptly and courteously according to company standards.
  • Prepare counter to the standard laid out by the management.
  • Serve all food and beverages at the specified times and in the appropriate quantities.
  • Ensure sound knowledge of the food to be served daily,
  • Ensure counters fridges and floors are always kept clean and tidy.
  • To ensure that all transactions on credit card machines are correct and report any mistakes to line manager.
  • Assist in any Hospitality coffee that any be required by the clients and staff on campus
  • Assist in light food preparation of sandwiches, salads
  • Clean all areas of the servery, beverage machine and preparation areas using the nominated cleaning schedules.
  • Ensure that all floor and wall surfaces are kept clean to the prescribed height.
  • Ensure that monthly stock takes are completed as instructed by line manager
  • To perform any other duties which may be reasonably required by your Line Manager or the company.
  • To open and close the shop daily in readiness for next days service
  • To Upsell and increase sales to improve GP.
