Quality Inspector/ Technician

A globally recognised supplier of components for multiple industries is looking to expand their Technical and Quality department by hiring a new Quality Inspector/ Technician.
The Quality Technician reports to the Head of Technical and Quality and is responsible for ensuring the quality of all products. This includes managing instrument calibration, test planning, fault diagnosis, and reporting.

The Quality Technician's main responsibilities are listed below:

  • Incoming inspection: Conduct inspections ensuring compliance with drawings and documentation for the generation of inspection reports and FAIRs to meet AS9102 and customer requirements.
  • Factory acceptance testing: Independently inspect manufactured products and assemblies via the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) process.
  • Non-conformance reporting: Log and monitor the Non-Conformance (NC) and Return Material Authorisation (RMA) process, including raising quality alerts, quarantining and if required scrapping parts.
  • Production Part Approval Process: Manage and maintain the calibration system, ensuring it meets regulatory requirements.
  • Data compilation and analysis: Compile and analyse data for statistical process control.
  • Calibration management: Manage and administer the calibration process.
  • Continuous improvement: Actively contribute and support root cause analysis, corrective & preventive actions and propose any pertinent improvements.
  • Quality auditing: Collaborate with the generation of company metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

The ideal Quality Technician will have experience in inspection processes and test equipment. They must have a strong understanding of technical drawings and drawing symbols. Applicants must also have knowledge of quality tools for fault diagnosis and analysis of route cause.

Will consider engineering graduates with 6 months of commercial experience, as well as applications from those who have recently or nearly completed an apprenticeship.
